Signature Generator

Sign here with your mouse, trackpad, or finger

Drawn and exported on your device. Your signature is never uploaded, stored, or logged.

Guide & practical tipsHow to use this tool well, limits, and common questions

Draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad, or finger, or type it in a script font, and download it as a transparent PNG you can drop onto a contract, invoice, or scanned form. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Draw it or type it

Draw mode gives you a real handwritten signature. Type mode turns your name into a script font, which is faster and looks consistent every time.

  2. 2

    Set the ink and weight

Pick black, blue, or grey, and adjust the pen thickness. Blue reads as signed-by-hand on a document that is otherwise all black text.

  3. 3

    Download a transparent PNG

The image is cropped tight to the signature with a transparent background, so it sits on a contract without a white box around it. Draw mode can also export SVG, which stays sharp at any size.

Tips that make a difference

  • Sign slowly. A trackpad signature drawn fast looks jagged; drawn slowly it looks like handwriting.
  • Blue ink makes it obvious the document was signed rather than printed.
  • Export SVG if the signature will be scaled, for example onto a letterhead or a large-format document. PNG is fine for a normal contract.
  • Keep the exported file somewhere private. An image of your signature is worth protecting like a password.
  • For anything that could be disputed, a signature image is weaker than a signing record that captures who signed, when, and from where.

Frequently asked questions

Is my signature uploaded or stored anywhere?

No. It is drawn on a canvas in your browser and exported on your device. It is never sent to Function Key, never stored, and never logged. Closing the tab discards it.

Does the PNG have a transparent background?

Yes. The exported image contains only the ink, so it can sit directly on top of a contract or letterhead without a white rectangle behind it.

Is a signature image legally binding?

It depends on your jurisdiction and the agreement. In many places a signature image is accepted, but it is weaker evidence than a signing record that captures identity, timestamp, and IP address, because an image can be copied from any document it appears on. For anything you might need to defend, use a proper e-signature flow.

Should I use PNG or SVG?

PNG for most documents. SVG when the signature will be resized, because it is a vector and stays sharp at any scale. SVG is available in draw mode.

Can I use this on a phone or tablet?

Yes, and it is usually the best way to do it. Signing with a finger or stylus on a touchscreen produces a far more natural signature than a trackpad.
